Upcoming Project: Michael Surbrook's Ghosts, Ghouls, and Golems

A Kickstarter for Michael Surbrook's Ghosts, Ghouls, and Golems will be going live on March 10th!"Ghosts, Ghouls, and Golems is a roleplyaing game guide to these darkness-dwelling creatures of folklore and myth for the Hero System, Savage Worlds, and Mutants & Masterminds. Emphasis has been placed on presenting these creatures as close to their traditional descriptions as possible - although a few “cinematic,” Hollywood-inspired versions of some of the more popular entries are included. High Rock Press Production Schedule

Production Schedule   Below is the production schedule for High Rock Press over the next year or so. Sorry we couldn’t post it in a more attractive manner, but it should be informative enough! A few notes. The term “track” means a crowdfunding method. “Track One” refers to the High Rock press Kickstarter account, which will be used for “big” projects of between $20,000 and $40,000. “Track Two” refers to the old Blackwyrm Publishing Kickstarter account, which will be used for “small” projects of between $3,000 and $5,000. “Track Three” refers to the as-of-yet untested Shopify Crowdfunding Manager, and will...

Since I've not only run a book warehouse for ten years, but spent the previous fifteen running a delivery service, I thought it might be prudent to go over a few things about shipping and packaging with all of you: especially publishers who are relatively new to the business, but also those who love to order roleplaying game books. Because I'm not only a publisher and a distributor, but also a...

You Help Them Have Fun: The Basics of Roleplaying Game Book Distribution

Note: I originally wrote this post for the publishers of the Indie Game Developer Network, but thought it informative enough to make it generally available.  Congratulations! You've managed to write, layout, illustrate, and print a roleplaying game book, either using your own money, funds acquired through crowd-funding, or through investment. The initial copies have been sent to backers, your creative team, investors, reviewers, and friends. It took a lot of effort and you're proud of your game. But now you have boxes of them crowding the living room of your home, and your significant other is threatening you with a...
